WELCOME TO THE 150th BIRTHDAY OF THE OPERETTA IN THE YEAR 2005!

July 5, 1855 Jacques Offenbach brought to stage in Paris his first one-act play:

"The two blind ones" - "Les deux aveugles"

Which cultural value the category of musical stage-art operetta had since then, can be read off from the historic operetta theatre-buildings, which are today only existent on photographs. But the music remains still alive until today. The E.F.O. wants to act therefore as a European controlling instrument, an institution to the care as well as for the renewal of this so valuable musical stage-culture.
